Provides benefits to persons of any nationality who has been granted asylum or refugee status in the United States.

Benefits available:

  • Free initial health screening
  • Free English classes
  • Employment Assistance
  • Pregnant women or dependents under 18, may qualify for:
    Temporary Cash Assistance, regular Medical Assistance and Food Stamps
  • Persons who are not pregnant and have no children may qualify for;
    Refugee Transitional Cash Assistance, Refugee Medical Assistance and Food Stamps, while looking for a job. Assistance is available for up to 8 months.
Persons applying for benefits should go to the
Baltimore Resettlement Center if they are living in one of the following six areas:
  • Anne Arundel County
  • Baltimore City
  • Baltimore County
  • Carroll County
  • Harford County
  • Howard County
