The Southern Maryland Tri-County Community Action Committee, Inc. is a private non-profit organization committed to addressing the problems associated with poverty in Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's Counties.

Services available:

Economic and Employment Development Project (EEDP)
Provides direct and referral services to eligible Tri-County residents seeking employment and training opportunities.

Office of Home Energy Program (OHEP)
Houses the Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) which assist Tri-County shelters, Renters, roomers, boarders and home owners with the cost of heating from November thru March.

Friendly Health Services
Provides medical and recreational assistance and supervision For the elderly and disabled.

Head Start Program
Comprehensive child development program for low income families.

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
Provides United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) food for emergency distribution in the Tri-County area.

Housing Counseling Services
Provides homebuyer education and seminars, financial counseling and assistance with finding rental and mortgage assistance.
